Daily Dependence

Do you ever find yourself telling others that they need to trust God with all their heart and things will work out as His will is accomplished? Then you turn around and fail to trust God yourself. Why is that? One thing is pride, which is an unhealthy arrogance that slips (roars) into your thinking when things are great in our lives. Another temptation is despair. It works itself into our hearts when we face difficulties and setbacks that are out of our control.
Jesus once pointed to a child and said."I tell you the truth, you must change and become like little children. Otherwise, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. The greatest person in the kingdom of heaven is the one who makes himself humble like a child." (Matt 18:3-4) A child will trust and depend on his/her father. God is happy when we trust like a child.
Daily dependence in God---acknowledging that He is the one source of all good gifts and success and the only safe refuge when life is difficult---steers us from pride and depair.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't depend on your own understanding.  Remember the Lord in all you do, and he will give you success.  Proverbs 3:5-6
